Post Hybrid mask headgear
Has anyone any infromation as to whether new headgear will ever be available for the hybrid mask. I e-mailed and telephoned the manufactuer and distributor and learned nothing. The headgear is almost totally useless. It is flimsy causing it to tangle easily and the velcro simply does not stick. I am using electrical tape to hoild the gear together but this is not acceptable for a mask that costs nearly $200. Anyone have any info or suggestions?

I have only had my hybrid mask since Thursday, but I agree that the headgear is flimsy and tangles easily. It's the first mask I've had (5th overall) that I haven't been able to put on in the dark. If I have to get up in the middle of the night, I just have to leave the mask on and disconnect the hose. That at least minimizes the hassle, since the only inconvenience is getting it on in the first place before bed. I don't have the problem with the velcro not sticking.

I had an email form the retailer of my Hybrid not to expect the new headgear for it anytime soon. Apparently they are already working on the next generation of this mask and will release a new headgear then. Good news is; virtually any headgear with 4 attactment points will work with the Hybrid. I used the headgear from my Activa and have been told the headgear from the F&P HC 431 FF works really well. The headgear seems to be the biggest single complaint about the Hybrid.

Post I must be the exception...
My Hybrid headgear is far better than my Swift headgear and my Remstar headgear. The Hybrid doesn't leave deep creases in my face and it has equal and symetrical mounting for a good fit.

Hmmm.... maybe it's my head.   Rolling Eyes

I was one of the lucky ones to get the new headgear for my Hybrid a few weeks ago. Although the new gear is much more comfortable and I have loved using it, there is a problem with it. It's disintegrating. It is literally falling apart more each night. I don't mean the ends are coming off but the lower two straps themselves are actually falling apart into little crumbs and the fabric is getting very thin. Last night a big chunk fell off. I had to re-tighten the lower straps. I don't think the headgear will last more than one or two more nights. I hate the thought of going back to the original headgear so I may be looking for one of those other brands that work with the Hybrid. I guess Innomed didn't pick their materials very well for either set of gear.

Sleepyhead,

I'm sorry to hear that your new headgear is falling apart already. I remember when you posted that you had gotten it and it wasn't very long ago. I had so many issues with that mask that I gave up on it altogether about a month ago. I guess there's no "magic bullet" mask. What is great for some is terrible for others.
