Post Message from the President of the ASAA
Dear Friends,

The American Sleep Apnea Association (ASAA) will celebrate a big anniversary in 2010. For twenty years the ASAA will have been the source for unbiased information and support for those with sleep apnea.  We need your help to make sure we get there.

The A.W.A.K.E. Network and the Apnea Support Forum online are resources for those challenged by treatment or wanting to know more about sleep apnea. Our executive director, Ed Grandi, posts his reflections on sleep apnea on his blog and serves at the association’s spokesperson to the media looking for input about the condition.

Our educational bulletins and the new Sleep Apnea DVD are available in physician’s offices and on our web site. They provide guidance to those seeking basic information about diagnosis and treatment of OSA.

The year of 2008 has been one of financial challenges for many of us and the ASAA has not been immune either. We are ending the year with dangerously low fund balances.
If the ASAA has made a difference in your life this year or in the life of someone you care about, please make a contribution in any amount to help us continue to help others in the years to come.

Your donation of $10, $20, $30, or more if you can possibly afford, it will help us be there to answer the call from the newly diagnosed patient struggling to understand what is happening to her. The years ahead hold much promise and we need a strong ASAA to help meet the challenges of the baby boomers who will need answers and for their children who need help as well.

Please make an online contribution by clicking here or send your check to my attention at the address listed below. Let us know if your employer will match your donation. The only gift that is too small is the gift not made, please help us start the New Year in the plus column.

Sincerely,

Rochelle Goldberg, M.D., FCCP, FAASM
