It took a while, but I finally got an S9; just not in the exact way I had planned. I stopped by the DME for a new mask cushion and they had just received an order of S9 machines. I indicated that I would love to buy one for my home, and then I could leave the S8 at my daughter's and not have to schlep it back and forth. She said, well we have your prescription already, want me to price it for you? I said OK, thinking it would be extremely pricey. When she quoted me a price of $800 for the entire set up, I was pleasantly surprised. I just couldn't resist, and walked out of the store with a brand new S9 Elite, humidifier and hose.

So I have the software (ver. 3.11) downloaded, and was about to stick my card in. Then I had a sudden though. Will downloading the data automatically erase the card every time? That's what my S8 Escape Auto did.

Did you ever get an answer to that? I have Resmed S9 and am curious to see the data myself too.

I copy the data from my ResMed card to my computer and then another SD card and use my SD cwith the Rescan software. I also unplug my S9 while removing and reinserting the SD card so it never knows it happened.

As far as I can tell, the card is left unchanged when you download the data. If you want to write settings onto the card it does erase it first, however.

It appears not to matter. It seems that even if I put a blank card in the machine, it will write all the data to it within a couple of minutes.

Can anybody pm to indicate where I can buy the ResScan 3.11 software to reliably check my own readings at home? I've all but given up on using my Autoset s9 (it's only 7 months old!) because I can't readily have the sd card read at the medical supply store in my region (their business hours coincide with my work hours). I lost umpteen lunch hours running there and back with my sd card, only to find them closed or to pick up what turned out to be summaries, not the details I've repeatedly asked for. The last time I tried, I lost the sd card in transit!

IFFF I can get a functional version of the software that works for this particular unit, I'd like to try again. Anybody out there know specifically where I can download the program and be assured it's a working, virus-free and functional? Which accessories would I also have to buy to convert or display the contents appropriately for interpretation?

What are the benefits to owning the software? I seem to get all the info I need off my machine. But I can't print it, of course. When you use Rescan, does it erase the data from the card?

The S9 Escape and S9 Escape Auto are basic machines only record compliance (usage) for insurance purposes . You need either the S9 Elite or the S9 Autoset and for the software google rescan 3.14 software download .

So if you get the S9 Elite, does it automatically come with the software? I thought this was something that they didn't provide the patient for some reason.

No, the software doesn't come w/any of the Resmed xPAPs. The Elite and the AutoSet are the two Resmed CPAPs that are fully data capable. ANY Resmed w/Escape in the model name is NOT fully data capable.

If you've had that Escape Auto less than 30 days take it back and tell them you want either the S9 Elite or the S9 AutoSet but the S9 Escape Auto and Escape are NOT satisfatory.

Keep in mind that YOU are the one PAYING for this equipment, whether thru insurance or out of pocket is immaterial, w/o YOU there is no sale and thus no money in their pocket for the sale. Most all insurances pay by HCPCS (insurance) code, NOT by brand and model. The Escape, Escape Auto, Elite and AutoSet are all HCPCS code e0601. Whilst each one as listed costs the DME provider a little more than the previous listed one, the DME provider has CONTRACTED w/the insurance company to accept ONE SET FEE for any of the e0601 coded models. Thus the DME provider makes more money pawning an Escape or Escape Auto off on unsuspecting patients than if they provide the Elite or AutoSet.

The card can get erased, losing any long term info (the machine doesn't hold on to the info as long as the card). Click the lock "on" when you read it and then unlock it when you put it back in the machine.
