I'll help with this if the admin would like me too... I've added a mod of this sort before to phpBB.
If nothing else, I'd be glad to get all the parts together to have on hand to help someone else put it in place.

Of course, I don't want to be the guy that shows up and tries to change stuff... I'd just personally like to see this added.

In the profile edit page add a few new text fields.
1. Equipment:
2. Pressure:
3. Treatment Start Date:

...and then show those fields (if filled in) under the author information on the side of the posts.
Example of what the finished version would look like:

I'd just like to see that information more often when talking to members of the forum...
which is why I added some of it to my signature,... in case others wonder.

so... what do you guys and gals think?

I'm just going to fake it for now... I added it to my location and there was enough room to get it close. ;)

It can be added fairly easily, but we are running into a lot of folks that are confused by the info required to start an account, and a lot have not even started therapy so they might or might not understand.

For now, its easily added to your signature, feel free to add it there but if we get enough folks that want it, it can be added.

one other thing that you might want to do is quick register that leaves off all the confusing things. I had to do that for a forum for non-tech savvy people once. the admin said he had people calling him asking how to fill in the normal basic stuff.

I changed it to ask for a username, password and email address. then if they felt like venturing into the profile to change things or add more... it was up to them.
made a HUGE difference in signups. That might be the case here to. I could see how this might be a person's first forum to ever join.

thanks for the reply mike. I like to hear your opinions. :) You are the tech-boss man of the forums and all.  Very Happy   Cool

Actually, we already do that Wink  (sorta) we cut down the info required and do allow folks to venture back into it.

I kinda like it in the sigs vs off on the side...

I moved it back to my sig as well.

Feel free to delete this thread. Wink
