Post Please explain leak or exhaust from hose
Hi,

My hose seems have  leak or an airflow that blows on my wife during the night.

Is this normal for masks. Is it some type of exhaust..

If so, any tips on now to avoid the airflow from bothering your partner.

Thanks,

There are two places on my rig designed for a deliberate leak.  One is on the full-face mask near the bridge of the nose.  This one is for expired air.  Neighbors can feel the breeze coming from this one.  There is another one a joined to the elbow joint fitting into the mask from the tube.  This one is called the rebreather valve.  It is cylindrical in shape integrated into the delivery system.  Inside the rebreather are two little membrane like flaps that open and close as I breath.  The close is on exhale and exhausts air thru small openings in the valve.  This insures I won't rebreath the air I have exhaled that did not escape from the grid on the mask.

Since it is difficult and uncomfortable to “nuzzle up†I found it helpful to sleep on my side with part of the mask in the pillow.  The pillow absorbs the air from the mask and rebreather.

Hi,

There is an exhaust port on all masks to allow CO2 to escape. Some masks deflect this airflow downwards some don't. If you post the details of your mask (make and model) I'm sure that someone else here is using similar equipment and can advise you.

Very important......DO NOT BLOCK THE EXHAUST PORT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
