Post keeping child in bed with cpap and pulseox wires
My daughter is 4 years old and still sleeping in a crib because I'm afraid of her waking up and climbing out of bed by herself at night, and tripping over the cpap hose and pulseox wire.  Has anyone figured out a way to put a child into a regular bed, without worrying about them getting tangled up in wires and tubes if they wake up during the night?  Question

Our 2 year old son sleeps in a regular bed (and has since he was about 11 months old). He only has a pulse ox wire to worry about, and manages just fine with it.  We always make sure the wires are attached to machines at his feet to minimize the risk of them wrapping around his neck, which they have done.  I hope that helps....

You could also "practice" with her. Put all her strings on and have her get in bed and practice getting up and down. You could also teach her to call for you when she wakes up so that you can attend to her quickly...

My son is 4 also and he's typically hooked up to an xpap along with a feeding tube.  He's also been hooked up to a pulse ox or apnea monitor at times.  I run the feeding tube down his pajama leg and secure it so that if he does roll around it won't tug on his stoma or get wrapped up around his neck.  We don't have any problems with the hose from his xpap though.  His machine is at the edge of his bed and there isn't enough slack for him to really roll around much.
