Post The "Hey, I'm new here" post
I belong to about 170987 other forums so I figure why not this one.  I'm going in for my sleep study next week.  I went through 4-5 years of insomnia and the last 3 years or so I've fallen asleep with ease but wake up tired, sick, confused and with regular migraines.  It's a grand old time.

Well, just saying hey.  Probably won't post much (but who knows)... just here to read more than anything else.

Hey there!

Welcome!   Nice to see ya!
I'm glad you've been reading up on all this.  And good luck with your sleep study.
Feel free to post comments and questions any time you wish, to either of the seperate forums listed here.
If you have questions about your sleep study, you might want to post them to the Sleep Study section.
Our resident guru of sleep studies often checks in there and gives a helpful hand helping to explain things.
Be sure to get a copy of the sleep study report, which is usually available several days after the study.
I got my copy through my sleep doctor.  Good luck!   And if you'd like, keep us posted.
I always enjoy hearing how things are going for people starting new with this.

..Hey uncle meat...thought we would advise you to follow through with the sleep study...after compalinging to my dr for 2 years I was sent for a sleep study (I am 54 yrs old) and I have had another study at night followed by a day study to see if I had narcalepsy.  Found out I have insomnia...also hang in there...get a mask that works...either nasel pillows for nose mask or full nose/mouth mask...you will need to clean it weekly and replace the cushion when needed & get at least 8 hrs of sleep.  This will help you reduce your weight, drop your high blood presure & cholestrol and feel better...but stay with the program and follow your doctors advice.  I was on Lipator but since my last blood test showed a total colesterol of 79 I was pulled off that medication and have feeling better.....still need a sleeping aid to rest my busy mind and sleep but I can live with that...good luck....bill in Seattle.
