Post One more newbie who can't figure out the numbers
Well, I had my doctor mail the results from my sleep study, but I for got to ask for the summary.  I guess I just assumed they would include it, or maybe they did and I don't recognize it.

Could someone interpret the numbers for me.  I had a split study diagnostic and titration in one night.

Diagnostic study:
REM #/h = AHI 96.0, RDI 96.0
NREM #/h = AHI 74.1, RDI 79.9
TST #/h (sleep) = AHI 75.5, RDI 80.9

CPAP Titration
REM #/h = AHI 9.4, RDI 9.4
NREM #/h = AHI 20.3, RDI 20.9
TST #/h (sleep) = AHI 18.2, RDI 18.7

Diagnostic study:
Stage 1 sleep 26%
Stage 2 sleep 49%
Stage 3 sleep 11%
Stage 4 sleep 0%
Stage REM 14%

CPAP Titration
Stage 1 sleep 21.2%
Stage 2 sleep 44.9%
Stage 3 sleep 15%
Stage 4 sleep 0%
Stage REM 19%

From what you posted...

Severe Sleep Apnea with marked improvement on CPAP (Mild Range)
Also, there is marked improvement in the sleep architecture.

In otherwords, on CPAP, you not only have better breathing, but better sleep!

But you have no stage 4 sleep and are still considered having moderate apnea though you are on xPAP.  What is your titrated pressure?  Did you AHI go down any more other than what you have listed here?

CPAP Titration
REM #/h = AHI 9.4, RDI 9.4
NREM #/h = AHI 20.3, RDI 20.9
TST #/h (sleep) = AHI 18.2, RDI 18.7

The AHI needs to be under 5.

My pressure is 5 - 10.  I haven't been ramping the last couple of nights, just starting at 10.  My doctor is going to schedule a full night titration with CPAP to fine tune the pressures.  I had an overnight pulse oximetry this week but may have to redo that as the oximeter shut itself off at some point during the night.  I haven't heard back yet as to whether there was usable data on it. :(
