Post Continual congestion
Since I started CPAP (about 1 1/2 years) I get heavy congestion after 2 weeks on CPAP. Because of the congestion, I'm unable to use CPAP, I start up on CPAP when it clears, and the congestion comes back.  Now, I've tried nasal pillows and thought I was allergic to them--ended up with a bacterial infection which took a while to take care of. So, I have now gone to the nasal mask and here I go again--congestion.  I have been on allegra and a spray, have used the netti pot.  I am out of options to get this cleared up.  I know CPAP is beneficial and helps but I can't stand this continual congestion.  Any ideas out there?  Thanks in advance

Grammie

Full face mask,

You may wish to try an Rx steroidal nasal spray like Flonase if you aren't already using it.

I do use flonase. Have not tried the full face mask.  I'm leery of putting the $$ into it just now when the regular masks have not helped.  I will see the dr for a check in in about 3 weeks.

Grammie,

I am like you, except that I take Zyrtec and Nasonex.  I also used pulse irrigation (you can buy nasal pulsed irrigation systems, or like me, get a nasal attachment for a Water Pik).  I open my mouth, which is probably due to my chronic congestion, so I just use a FF mask.

You did not mention if your CPAP ahs a humdifier and if you are sure it is working. People sometimes have all kinds of problems with symptoms like a bad cold because their nasal area is too sensitive to manage without humidification
