Post New-ish Respironics CPAP user needs help
Hope I don't make etiquette mistakes; have never posted in a forum before.  Have been on CPAP since December.  Yesterday morning, I accidentally made a hole in my 6-foot long flexible tubing with my fingernail.  Have phoned my CPAP provider twice and not received a return call.  What type of store might have replacement hose to get me by on a Saturday?  A drugstore? Or, is it safe for me to try to tape the hose together maybe with electrical tape?  Answering service asked me if it could wait until Monday.  I guess I will have to wait unless someone has any ideas.  Thanks so much.

No etiquette problems with your post or question.  Welcome.

Holes in CPAP hoses happen and they can be repaired in several ways; wrapping vinyl electrical tape around the hose a few times should work well.  If you use a good type of tape, such as 3M 33+, it could be considered to be a more or less permanent repair.  You can get 3M 33+ from Home Depot and other hardware and home improvement stores.

If your insurance is good and will provide a free hose each month, you might want to use the repaired hose until you can get a new hose that way.  If you get a new hose every month, you might want to get a new hose for the first two or three months so that you have spares.

If you don't have insurance or your out of pocket will be over $15 or so, you might want to consider ordering a new hose from an online CPAP supplier.  You can get a new hose from an online supplier for $10 plus shipping.  You might want to order a couple hoses so that you have a spare; your repaired hose would also make a good spare.
