I went back for a follow-up yesterday, asking for a full report from the Dr., but she refused to give it to me, saying that I wouldn't be unable to read other details.   She only gave me the following numbers and suggested that I send a written request with applicable charges to apply for a full report.  Could someone explain the following numbers to me please?  Much appreciated.

OSA diagnosed by sleep study in Sept. 2005:
Sleep efficiency 70.5%
RDI: 8.3/hr, SaO2: 89%
ESS: 16/24
CPAC pressure titrated to be 6cm H2O

Your doctor is full of garbage as far as I know.  Every patient has FULL access and rights to their medical record.  She is legally obligated to share your results with you if you so choose.

As for the numbers, sorry, I'm not sure.

Why does she call it a CPAC?  The acronym is CPAP for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, what does the last C stand for?

Aishel is correct.  Every person has a right to their medical records.  The only medical records I'm not sure about are psychiatric/pyschotherapy records.  The only time I've been charged an arm and a leg to get a report is when it is from an archived cumulative record and it is an inch thick.  I can imagine why she is being a pain in the rear and it has to do with ego.  Get want you want.  You are the consumer, you are paying her.

I misspelled it, should be CPAP.  As for the doctor, it's always the case here in the government subsidised hospitals.  Patients are always treated as illiterate fools.  

Do I have to move this inquiry to Sleep Study Section or Sleep Dave will be able to jump in and help me read the numbers?

In order to be able to comment on study results, you really the whole report (both if there was a CPAP titration, or the whole split study), including the sleep architecture graph, as well as pertinent medical hisory and medications.  Even then it's often a reach.  The forums are full of people whose MDs are making recommendations based on only a single number or two and many times missing the boat entirely.

There does look to be at least one other issue, maybe we can find something that will not only help you but you can take back to Dr. 'Tude  and scream at what an idiot she is.
