I generally liked the mask as with the resizing procedure, a very good fit can be had, assuming you start with the correct mask size which is obtianed by measuring the face and some trial and error
to my concern, on the new mask, the plastic that holds the balls appears the same thickness as before so I can only hope a a stronger plastic has been used this time
I noticed the attachment points no longer fall from the mask and are better retained, also there were no noisy vibrations when the new mask was worn loosely which were a problem from the first comfort gell.
Its clearly a second generation version, and I hope in future, respironics tests their new masks more thouroughly during development
their resizing feature should be used by other makers as it does result in a personal fit for the wearers face
a question about both comfort gells is how to clean the air outlet vent if it eventually becomes partly blocked, theres no obvious way to poke a pin etc into it
the new mask has a serial no on the lower part which the old one didnt have so perhaps comfort gell masks without the number are old stock and should be avoided
respironics recommends soaking the new mask in water and mild detergent to condition it before first use, which is interesting, not quite sure what this would achieve
