Hello everyone my name is Aaron Hancock. Great site with lots of info. I thought I would post up a link to some pictures of what happened when I fell asleep at the wheel. I hit a steel guard rail almost head on. I had been running over 80 mph http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa133/juni88126/ You would think I would of figured out that some thing was worng then but it took me three years to get it checked out. I go in for a sleep study on the 6th of September. Doctor thinks I have sleep apnea.

Hi Aaron,
And welcome! Gosh, you sure were lucky! That accident could have been far worse, for you and for others. Yeah, sometimes it takes an accident for people to find out there's a medical reason for it, sleep apnea. Good luck with your sleep study. Until then, please be careful. If you're scheduled at a sleep study center, you might call and ask to be placed on a cancellation list, sometimes they can get you in earlier. And we don't want you having accidents, hurting yourself or anyone else. Good luck. my sleep study is during the day so it is a little harder to get in. I work nights. I was fortunate that the only other thing invovled was a guardrail. I don't drive right now so that is good.

Aaron- OMG!!!! The important thing s that you're OK;you found this site;and you're going to have your apnea officially diagnosed/treated. It so amazes me how many people find us before even having their sleep studies done. I wish that I had known anything about sleep apnea from the beginning. But I did find this site within my first week of using CPAP. Everyone here is very helpful. I have found that a person posts questions theres always someone who has been through similiar episodes. I have said many times the the only dumb/stupid questions are the ones that aren't asked.
