Hi guys.... it's me again.
I just got Caden's sleep study report in the mail (it was done before the T&A.)
In the report it notes that Caden had "intermittent short to long central, mixed and obstructive apneas..."
The number report looks something like this:
Apnea Episodes: 122
apnea length episodes maximum apnea freq.
17.2/hr
Central 6>20 sec 15 19.3 sec
Hypopnea Episodes: 179
Obstructive 6>20 sec 55 39.9 sec a/h freq.
RDI: 42.6/hr
Mixed 6>20 sec 52 24.9 sec REM AHI
91.3/hr
Hypopneas 6>20 sec 179 58.1 sec arousal
index 34.7/hr
Respiratory arousals: 28.1/hr limb mvt
Ok, It also says the study is being done to "assess for obstructive apnea and to rule out central apnea." But then it never goes on to say anything about the central apneas. So, my question is, should I be concerned about the 15 centrals? (BTW, I posted this same question in the sleep apnea "help" forum, too.)
Have any of you seen something similar in your child's report?
I'm going to request a 2nd sleep study, even though the ENT doesn't think it's necessary if he's not snoring anymore since the surgery.....but as many of you have suggested to me in other posts....I think it will help ease my mind....to see on paper that the apnea (obstructive or otherwise) is gone for sure.
Thanks in advance!
Kim
