Ok, background on us: Hannah is eight years old and has sleep apnea. She has been on CPAP for about three and a half weeks. She is not consistant with it yet but getting there. Some nights she sleeps all night with it and some nights after a few hours she freaks out and has had it. Dr says it will take some time and this is ok. She has been wetting her bed off and on for while now. I know this is directly related to the sleep apnea(more urine production) and did I mention that Hannah has Down syndrome? For her it means that she has low muscle tone and it is harder for her to recognize that she has a full bladder(she has been potty trained for some time thought) This is becoming frustrating for her and me both. I don't scold her, she is her own worst critic and feels awful. Pull ups are too small for her and our insurance will only pay for diapers-which at age eight is not an option we want to pursue. I guess I am wondering if in time this will dissapate as her therapy continues. Does anyone have any experience with this????
