Post Side affects
Hi I have just joined the forum and I wonder if anybody else has had the same problem as my husband.  He does not like the mask and when he got around to using the full face mask he was sat on the bed and just passed out.  I had to take the mask off him and thumb his chest to get him back into the land of the living.  Is this a common side affect He is now very scared to try again.

Hi Sue,

I've never heard of this.  But I could see why he would be scared to try again.
He might try using the mask while sitting up, to try and get used to it.  Or he might ask his provider for a different type of mask.
If you'd like, you might post the same question in our main section, Sleep Apnea Help, where more people are likely to read it and respond.

Linda

Could it be that your husband had an anxiety (panic) attack and fainted?  Wearing a mask, as such, shouldn't cause anybody to pass out.  Even if the CPAP machine were not running, there are air holes in all masks.

It's a very rare case that I haven't heard of, check on the machine if there is any malfunction at all.  Talk to your doctor to get professional advise.  Or the mask is not suitable foro his use at all.
