Post Need Advice
I am soon going to get a CPAP for my sleep apnea and want to know if there is anything I can do to help my husband deal with the stress and problems that will come with my machine. Any advice would be helpful!

I am curious what stress & problems you believe your husband will have with your machine?   Confused   Can you explain?

If anything, he will finally be getting some sleep too!  My wife sure has....I think she is happier than I am.   Laughing

He is a very light sleeper. I do not snore, but the sound of the machine is sure to keep him up at night! My dad's machine let out a "hum" that to me was soothing, but that sort of noise bothers him.

Remind him it is going to help keep you alive for him.  Look at it positively, as a good thing, not negatively.  My wife now has a rare instance with trouble sleeping from my CPAP... when I'm NOT there!!  It has become like "White Noise" that creates a soothing sound. She has become used to the sound, and it is out of order for her not to hear it.

As for the "HUM" - There are models out now that barely make much noise.  My unit makes more noise from the air passing through the tubing, then from the machine itself.

Hang in there, and keep communicating with each other about it.  A potential problem can't become a problem, until after we stop working on the solution.

Keep us posted.

You're correct. It is a white noise.  I actually like the sound as it is SO MUCH BETTER than snoring and snorking, and twitching, and jumping and gasping, and not breathing.

Been there for the last 20 years.  My masked man is healthier, and we're all happier.
