No progress with the sleep lab. They have not gotten back to me to follow up on my most recent request. The DME has not returned my call either. In the meantime, I am not sleeping well and wake up frequently with that feeling of not having taken a breath in a long time.

On the positive side, I switched family physicians and met the new guy today. He's brilliant. He looked over my test results from this year and immediately spotted problems with the meds I'm taking and said they are probably exacerbating some of the symptoms I've been battling. (He agreed with sleepydave regarding the allegra-d I had been on for years) He was also surprised I hadn't been sent for vestibular retraining. We are starting on the meds first, making some changes, but slowly so we don't change too many variables all at once. Then we'll see if the rehab program is necessary as well as some other testing that wasn't ordered by my previous doctors.

Hopefully, all of this will contribute to improving the sleep situation. Looks like I'm not going to get any further help from the sleep lab until my appointment in January with the doctor.

Hey SnoozeHunter,

Get on the cancellation list with the doctor and maybe you can get in sooner than Jan.

There is one plus to your decreased sleep, you are writing the most priceless and hilarious Haikus!  I can only imagine where you will go when you are not sleep and O2 deprived!

Vicki

Thanks, Vicki!

I read all of the posts in the forums but most of the time I don't feel qualified to give good advice to anyone so, instead, I comment by writing a goofy haiku about it.   Razz  Thanks for starting the thread and glad you're enjoying my late night silliness. Apologies to anyone who is annoyed by it. Gives me something to do during those long, sleepless stretches.

Regarding the sleep lab, I've about given up on them. I am trying to follow the instructions from the sleep doc (sleep meds and high pressure) so I can truthfully tell him I gave it a good try. He wanted to do the 8 week trial to see if this would work, but if he hasn't read my results by my next appointment and come up with something that makes sense it will be my last visit to him.

I can't even remember how it feels to be fully awake and not tired.
