Post Finally got my CPAP
Well tonight will be the first night, DME just left after dropping of my shiny new ResMed and I can't wait till bedtime.

He did take care of me though, gave me the Swift pillows and a respironics nasal gel mask so I can switch off if I get tired of one or another. He also said if after the month goes by and I dont like either I can try something new with no out of pocket expense to me.

I have to admit after having Crohn's disease and costing my insurance company a TON of cash through the years they took care of me as well, not one dollar out of my pocket for all my new toys.

Well wish me luck, I just may go take a quick powernap now after I got out of work 4 hours early  Smile

Post Just got CPAP
Johnny, we are in the same boat.  I just got mine (C-Flex Pro c/ Ultra Mirage nose mask) a few days ago.

Tempering my excitement, however, was that I was just coming down with the flu.  So I have achies, exhaustion, breathing issues, and sleep issues over and above OSA.  I considered waiting to try the CPAP until my flu was all better, but nah.  I think that I need some REM sleep going for me.

I have only been able to sleep via the CPAP for a few hours at a time, then I'm awake for a while.  I'm optimistic about the future, and am not intererested in any sleep meds.

A couple of interesting observations.  First, as crummy as I feel, my mood is unusually good.  This is No small benefit!

Second, I noticed the first day that my field of vision was wider.  I have great hopes that Mr. CPAP will get me off my blood pressure medication.

One final note.  As a complete newbie, I was hoping to find a forum dedicated to CPAP success stories.  Such a forum might be a big help to those of us looking for a tad of reassurance among the experienced.

Good luck Johnie!
