Mixed apnea and the best type of machine for it???
Thanks to everybody here and the boundless information here and at other sites, I have learned a boatload about apnea thus far. To my knowledge, I have mixed apnea with very few obstructive events and almost all central events... at least this is what I'm getting from reading a copy of the incomplete sleep study that was faxed to my DME. They made me a copy. I have been given the Respironics BiPAP Pro 2. Does this machine have the ST technology that will ventilate you if you don't breathe for a certain amount of time? If I get a negative answer on this, I'll need to have it out with my DME. I was just thinking about this when I was reading the posts and it struck me right where my mask digs in a bit... right between the eyes!!!

Anyway, I haven't had my follow-up with the sleep doc yet (only on my 3rd night with the machine at home). I'll definately add this to the list of questions I have for him. I just thought I'd check with all of you fountains of information while I'm waiting to get in to see him. Let me know what you think. I will be looking forward to a response.
Thanks again and again and again,
Sleepy Scott
