Post Hearing Issues
Question

Good Morning

I have had sleep apnea for a very long time.  I was afraid of the idea of sleeping with a mask.  My wife has lived with my severe snoring for some time.  I finally had the slep study and was diagnosed.  While I di not have many of the symtoms tht many others have suffered with, the tiredness and snoring was harsh.

I have been on my CPAP machine for 2 weeks.  I slep for over 7 hours the first night, and every night sense then.  Yesterday I statrted having hearing problems in my right ear.  I have had tenitis for sometime, but this is different.  I hear a "tinny" sound with higher pitched sound.  I also have trouble distinguishing a persons voice on the phone when I listen thru that ear.

I use a full face mask.  When I sleep on my back my ears fill with air, and I have to release the pressure.  I have not been able to find any info on this in any of the internet searches I have done.  Has anyone else experienced this?

When I saw the subject, I immediately clicked on it becasue I recently posted something on here regarding my change in hearing since going on CPAP.  But in my case, the change was good, and not pressure related.

Thanks....I read the thread.  Seems to be different for me.  I think a trip to the ear nose and throat guy is in my future.
