was saying today on the radio that he quits breathing 47 times a minute, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield said that it was NOT ENOUGH for them to pay for a CPAP machine.  HOLY BUCKETS.  How many times a minute do you have to stop breathing for them to pay?  That is almost once a second!!!!!

I had relatively few apnea events on my sleep study (in the "mild" range), and Blue Cross paid for my CPAP therapy!

47 times a minute?  I'm as skeptical as you are, Mamamama.  I'd believe 47 times an hour, however.

I'm a BC/BS member with an AHI of 6.3 NREM and 15.3 REM and they are paying for my treatment.  We don't know the whole picture for him either.  BC/BS requires the Epworth Sleepiness Test and if you don't score a certain number or higher, they won't pay according to my sleep lab.
