My daughter had her first night of sleeping with CPAP last night.  She actually did really great.  I noticed that the seal on her mask kept breaking when she moved in certain positions.  I know that its going to take a while before we figure out how to do this all correctly, but I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for small masks that have worked for their young ones.  My daughter is three and is using the SleepNet Corporation's MiniMe Nasal Mask.

Boy I wish I could help you out with this one. Hannah is nine and uses an adult size mask. She has a resprionics comfortfull2(full face mask) she wears a size small and I know there is a petite size too. Maybe that would work???  The straps are HUGE though and I had to swap them out from another mask. I know there is a comany that does put out a pediatric mask but have no idea who. Maybe that is what you are using though.

My daughter also uses a full face mask. She started with a nasal, but she's a mouth breather. She is 8 and has an extra small adult mask. My daughter is a stomach and side sleeper. What made the difference for her was a good pillow. Not a Memory foam it was to hard and actually dislodged the mask when ever she moved. I got a standard size, soft pillow that is called a Slumber Gel. What difference!

After trying three different masks that didn't fit , constantly leaked and left marks (and bruises) on my daughter's nose, we have now found the Nasal Aire II Petite nasal pillows and they are working.  Although we are using the smallest size, they still are a little too big, but way better than anything else we tried.  She is doing well with it and I would highly recommend anyone who isn't a mouth breather to try it.

OK, so now we are on our fifth mask and we've found one that works pretty well.  The ResMed Kidsta Mask has really made a difference for us, however it is still too big (its designed for 7 year olds) and she has a super chapped top lip because the mask covers her lip. If anyone has any suggestions on any other masks to try, I'd love to hear them.  I'm thinking about designing my own mask for kids because this has been such a nightmare!

Perhaps the Respironics Simplicity Petite? The center strap of the headgear will be much too long but it is simple enough to adjust it for the forehead straps and then cut the center strap after measure how much you need to cut out and put the two cut ends back together w/velcro. Works for me! They provide a velcro clip so the hose can be worn above the head or the swivel swings very freely 360 degrees.

It is an adult nasal mask but it is a simple nasal cushion and designed to cover only part of the length of an adult's nose instead of full length from bridge to bottom of nose. VERY lightweight because there is almost nothing to it.
