Post Missing work and frustrated!!!!!!!!!!1
I just had my second sleep study I posted my first sleep study already.I have been getting more migraines and blood presser high, very tired. Almost hit a bridge when i was driving my daughter to her Dr. apt. i am a single mother of 2 teenagers.  I have been missing work due to the sleep apnea w/ hypersomnia. also having constant pressure in head. I work third shift 7 on 7 off, i do in home care for a lady who is total care. I called my doc that is treating my sleep apnea and left a message on wed. he never called me back which was so frustrating!!!!!!!! Now i have to wait until monday. This is not the first time they did not call back. Anyone have any suggestions? Or have had some of the same experiences?

Lora - my blood pressure went down after starting CPAP.  My primary care doc told me that people who do not get 7-8 hours of sleep each night are more prone to high blood pressure, high cholesterol and obesity.  Your body is not getting 7-8 hours of good sleep right now.  I also have noticed fewer instances of "auras" which I understand are related to migraines.  Do you have your CPAP yet?  Once you start, you should start feeling better.  If you don't have your CPAP yet, you can try sleeping on your side or stomach (OSA is always worst when sleeping on your back).  Or you can try sleeping in a recliner (that helped me while waiting).

Good luck!

Hi Lora,

This probably is not helpful in the short term........but YOU pay the doctor, so YOU are entitled to a service. Remind him/her who is employing who.

In the meantime you must agitate. Constant phone calls insisting to see him/her. You need to get onto therapy ASAP.

Keep us posted.

Daniel

Lora,

Also, since you are missing work, it is important that you get a note from your doc. saying that you are being treated for a medical condition.  I wouldn't be specific about what you are being treated for and word it just as it is worded in the first sentence.

If you can find someone else to drive, that would be the best.  As a single mom, I know how tough that can be, but you are putting you, your children and strangers lives at risk and you would be held liable if you had an accident.

As Danial said, those people work for you so don't be afraid to be a squeaking wheel!

Vicki

Thanks guys for the info and encouragement. No, I have not started the c pap yet, I go back monday to get the results of the titration, i figured he thought i could wait till then  Evil or Very Mad. The bad thing is i do not have anyone else to drive. I was feeling better yesterday and went back to work last night and did a 9 1/2 hr shift on 4 hours of sleep.  I have to go back tonight and do 12 hrs. Hope i can get some sleep today.
I forgot to post on last message that i also have barrettes esophagus, and that could be the reason for obstructive sleep apnea.
I gess i want a quick fix, and i know it will take time to start felling better. It has been so frustrating and interfering with jobs/family and social life for so long.

I went back for the titration results this morning and they did not have the results typed up so i could not get  a copy. They did contact a medical supplyer to call me ASAP to get an apt. to get the cpap. They called me before i even got home, tryed to call them back with no answer. He also upped my lunesta to 3mg 1 to 2 at hs. Hopefully that will help for now. Also gave me a Dr's excuse and it did not state what kind of medicial condition, just that i was under his care. That takes allot of stress off.  Very Happy .
Hopefully when i start the cpap things will get better and i can start to decrease the sleeping aids that i have been on for about 4 years now. yea
