 Fibro question, kind of...
I have fibromyalgia (big surprise, me having apnea too...) About a year and 1/2 ago I had surgery for a Morton's neuroma. I went to the foot doc today because I was starting to hurt again, and low and behold, another neuroma. Right now I am sitting here in too much pain to sleep, with my nose too clogged from crying to use the cpap but the benedryl kicking in and making it hard to see straight...I'll probably give up and go machineless tonight, but the DSO (dear sig other, not a DH yet) needs to get well into sleep so I don't disturb him with my snores...
Anyway, in poking around on the web I found that neuromas are common for people with fibro. Doesn't surprise me too much...but I couldn't find a support group for it like this one here, so I thought I'd ask you kind people...any fibro folks here also have/had a neuroma?

I have Fibro but no neuromas yet...maybe because I don't know what they are If you tell me I will probably get one...seems that is what the Drs are thinking about me anyway with my other numerous problems that are affecting me!

a neuroma is a thickening of nerve fibers in a high stress area of the body, sometimes refered to as begnin tumors, mine are in my feet, kind of a foots answer to carpel tunnel syndrome. mine are probably because of my weight, I am 120 lbs over weight. My bones and nerves were designed to carry 5ft 4 in 120 not 5ft 4 in 240. gaining an extra me's worth of weight was easy, loseing it, not so much.

Hi to all,
I have not been diagnosed and don't have too many symptoms of Fibro, however my sleep study showed "alpha instrusions" which is a sleep abnormality that is associated with Fibro.

Alpha intrusions are assciated with pain. Since people with Fibromyalgia have pain, it is seen there. Alpha intrusions are also seen in people with chronic pain.

Carla...I am assuming you know the area I am it then! About 70 or 80 miles North of Tampa...great area! I prefer back in New England though (at least for the summers)

I have so much nerve damage from my herniated discs...now I wonder if it is those or neuromas...bad thing with this area is the medical part of it. They don't seem to be able to look beyond the obvious...if a bandaid stops the blood flow than TA DA your fixed.
