Statement of Need:
The Annenberg Center's Annual Conference on Sleep Disorders in Infancy and Childhood is a multidisciplinary meeting for physicians, nurses, respiratory care practitioners, sleep scientists, polysomnographers, social workers, psychologists, and other health care professionals who have an interest in cardiorespiratory control, SIDS, pediatric sleep disorders, obstructive apnea, home ventilatory support and other related topics.
Sleep issues continue their significant impact on contemporary society. Though we can often see the consequences of sleep related disorders, the treatment of the disorder is more difficult to define. The impact of infant and childhood sleep disorders is seen in death, physical disorders, psychological impact, and other significant disruptions to the lives and development of children.
For twenty-five years, some of the leading authorities in the field have been meeting at the Annenberg Center to share theories, information and knowledge.
These meetings have attracted world leaders in the field of sleep disorders. They have presented studies and held informal and formal discussions focused on expanding our knowledge of these destructive problems. We look forward to continuing this groundbreaking approach to the understanding of sleep disorders in infants and children.
