I wasn't able to read posts on this forum yesterday due to work issues at work (imagine that LOL). Today I am doing some catch up reading and see that many, MANY posts have been deleted which really ruins the context of many of the threads.  I've also read enough (I think) to realize what took place that caused this needless disruption of the threads.

What a shame for those who come across these threads not knowing what all took place. Entering the world of Apnea is confusing enough without having messed up threads.

We'll see if we can make these kinds of rearrangements more transparent in the future, or maybe right now, Ed, MIke?  Thank you for pointing this confusion to us!!

Some of those posts were moved to the late night section.  Others, which strongly pushed and advocated the use of an unproven and untested supplement to replace CPAP therapy were deleted because of the high potential for apnea patients to take the poster's advice and stop using their CPAP.  We have plenty of posts about alternatives which may improve apnea and can be used concurrently with CPAP therapy until the supplemental therapy has shown, through clinical trials and studies, to improve apnea and the patient's have follow-up sleep studies to prove the efficacy of the alternative therapy.

We are dedicated to the health and safely of apnea patients.  That s our first priority and we do not want patients to be mislead.  Anything less is irresponsible with a high risk of harm and will not be tolerated.

Yes, I understand the *why* for some of the deletions, however, it seems to me that ALL posts have been deleted having to do with the issue or not.

I'm in a bit of a rush today and didn't mean for my opening post to sound terse.... it's not meant to be... just saying that now many of the threads are confusing due to missing content.

I suppose with the speed that topics repeat themselves, that new threads will be born with similar information  Very Happy

This whole thing is a bummer huh?  Rolling Eyes

and I TOTALLY AGREE with this ~

It appears that the origianl poster removed the threads on her own by the comment made regarding doing so...not sure though...I haven't been really looking at them.

PulJommies,

I, not you, came off sounding terse and completely understood you.  I was in a rush to write it and get back to bed, I seem to be sick, so I moved my last sentence to the top to hopefully soften it.  Sorry about that!!!

We had someone that decided that they had the "Cure" to sleep apnea and was going to help folks find it thru vitamins.  That's great that someone is trying to find alternative ways to treat apnea, but until it is PROVEN it will not be offered as a cure here.  (Proven = do a sleep study with the new wonder cure and have no apnea)  If anything we allowed this person to go on too long, and that won't happen in the future.

Feel free to discuss treatment options, but we will draw the line at unproven "cures" as they sometimes are dangerous (i.e. we had one poster trying to hold his airway open with cane tips!)  and at the very least, the person won't be getting proper treatment (one that reduces apnea to a normal level)

Additionally, that user decided to take her toys and go home and spend hours going back into each and every post that they had and putting in the word "delete"
or "blank" The Mods and Admins would definately not take the time to edit over 200 posts to do that.   Rolling Eyes
