Ok, I've never entered this topic before (I'm not a motorcycle person).
But I was amused to see just how many views this topic gets!! Have you noticed?  Over 12,000 and counting?
Is there a connection between sleep apnea and motorcyclists I don't know about??

And this is the truth.  I can't count the times that a perfect stranger will ask me for a ride in the sidecar.  My daugthter has actually managed garage sales for little old ladies while they go for a 15 or 20 minute ride with me.  At one time I was looking at one of those big bookshelves made out of a wood strip canoes.  They wanted $75.  for it.  Behind me I could hear the two older ladies running the show talking.  The conversation went like this;
1.  Did you see his motorcycle?
2.  yes it has a sidecar.  Isn't it wonderful?
1.  Well ask him
2.  I can't ask him
1.  Sir my friend has never sat in a sidecar.  Would you mind?
Me.  Of course not.
I emptied some things out of it, and of course offered her a ride around the block.  Half way around she directed me down a side street so she could wave to her daughter and grandson.  By the time we got back to her house she was giggling like a schoolgirl.
Her friend told me that when they graduated from college they rode a brand new 1959 Triumph to California and back, settled down, got married and had families.  She stayed with bikes while my rider's husband didn't like them.  She said it was her now widowed friend's first motorcycle ride in 45 years.
They then insisted that I take the bookshelf as payment for "bringing back the memory".  
It rode home 45 miles tied to the top of the sidecar.

Linda the gal I work with that got me to go in for a sleep study is a hose head herself. She had never been on a motorcyle ride before. One nice bright sunny days along the Oregon coast, we do not get alot these days, I took her for a ride down highway 101. She had a great time and still talks about it. Go on a ride with an experienced rider at least once in your life. It will be something you will remember all the rest of your life.

To bring the riding season up to date. Went to the GWRRA Idaho District rally in Salmon ID over Labor Day weekend. Was a great time. Had ash from all the forest fires going and had to watch out for wild life coming down from the mountains do to the fires as well. We towed our bikes over behind a friend RV and grazed an elk on the way from Missoula MT to Salmon ID on highway 93. Really liked the area around Salmon ID. Was simply a great area to be riding in.

Last weekend went to the first Poker Run ran by the Astoria Rotary, in Astoria OR, to raise money for the Rotarys scholarship fund. They had a great route that took about 2 hours to ride mapped out. When I finished the poker run went over to Long Beach WA for the End of the World Rod Run and looked at some really nice rods and old cars.

Hows everyone else doing for weather and riding. We have a heat advisory for the northwest OR and southwest WA as we are having a real warm up to the end of summer here. Could not ask for better weather to be honest.

Weather here has been all over the place for the last while. Hot and smoggy one day, cool and wet the next. Sept. 4 I went on a ride up to the Bancroft area which is a couple of hours Northeast of Toronto. I did 2 back to back 400 mile days up there doing nothing but strafing the twisty back roads in the area. Had a total blast. One road I touched my pegs down a couple of times at less than 30 mph. Probably the twistiest road I've been on east of the Rockies. I rode home Friday the 7th in 40 mph cross winds. Not a lot of fun that day. I travelled with my older REMstar Plus and humidifier wrapped in a towel and sweatshirt in my saddlebag and the case for the machine stuffed full of socks and such in a gym bag lashed to the back seat. carried a 2 litre bottle of distilled water in the other saddlebag. It all worked out well. Still had room for my camera and souveneirs. I motel it nowdays as I simply don't enjoy camping anymore. Total mileage was a little over 1400 in the 4 days I rode. All in all it was a great trip.

Well our weather has headed into the fall mode. We have had nothing but a lot of rain here and it's not looking good to see any really good riding weather. It's already down into the 30's here and it's only Oct. Just getting that time of the year to park the bike and move inside.

Northwest Wisconsin was an 80 degree day.  I enjoyed the ride home from work.  This time of year I know they are numbered.

Weather here in Southwestern Ont. has been unseasonably warm. Yesterday set a record for the latest smog advisory we've ever had. SWAMBO and I went for a longish ride yesterday and I wore my mesh jacket without the liner. We saw several riders in t-shirts. It is supposed to cool down quite a bit by the end of next week with showers in the forecast from Wednesday on. We are both off work until Tuesday, so we're gonna get all the riding that we can this weekend.

This is the best run of the year. The Poker Run to Key West gets about 25,000 participants and it is a great time. The Duval Crawl is a true experience.
