CPAP aggravating laryngitis?

Post CPAP aggravating laryngitis?
I"ve been using my CPAP for a couple of months (have humidifier and use nasal pillows with chin strap).  For the past week or so I've been struggling with a cold and laryngitis.  It seems to me that when I use the machine, the flow of air aggravates my throat to the point that I awaken with little or no voice.

Has anyone else experienced this or am I imagining it?

Thanks for the advice--I'm learning so much from reading everyone's posts!

Acid reflux can exacerbate or even cause laryngitis.

A few patients have anecdotally reported that their CPAP-induced aerophagia seemed to cause or trigger night time acid reflux.   This is not the usual case, however, as CPAP usually helps with acid reflux.  Anyway some of these atypical patients eliminated their aerophagia and resulting acid reflux by using either BiPAP or AutoPAP.

So... I guess it is possible that you are experiencing night time acid reflux (CPAP-induced or otherwise)---and that acid exposure in turn perpetuates your laryngitis.
