Post today's rant
I woke up, I'm not sure when, because my hip hurt.  I took Tylenol last
night.  I should have taken the extra-strength stuff.

I "slept" a little because I had a dream.  I dreamed that I was on a bus - I
ride them all the time - I hollered out - as I should - that I need the
wheelchair at the next stop.  The driver didn't stop.  It was the bus I take
often.  This guy didn't stop.  I tapped him on the shoulder while he was
driving.  He didn't look around.  He was wearing headphones - he couldn't
hear me (i.e., my doctors don't listen to me or do what I think they should)
The bus kept going.  I saw there was a different driver.  He said the bus I
was on was a route 2.  The first bus was a route 41.  I never got off (life
is taking me places over which I have no control.)

The biggest non emotional problem I gave right now is sleep apnea and
physically blocked nasal passages.  I'm exhausted.  I feel like !@#!.

We went to a movie and dinner last night.  I had difficulty cutting my food.
I have a neuropathy that is getting worse.  My hand and grip strength are
getting much weaker.  This is the first time this has happened.  In fairness
to the food last night, the broccoli was very crisp, but I am having
increasing trouble cutting food.  I feel like !@#!.

I've been up for about twenty minutes, had to go to the bathroom.  I fed the
cats, typed this and am going back to bed.  Before I do the latter I have to
inject some more God-awful saline solution into my nose.  I feel like !@#!
and my life sucks.

Thanks for listening.

Cheers

Goodness, you're sure going through quite a lot.
You deserve to rant!
 Wink

I went back and read one or two of your posts (not all), but I see that some have asked you about medications, and the questions made me wonder if you've been evaluated properly or by second medical opinions on your various conditions.  I sure hope so.

I run a local support group for sleep apnea, and one of our members has neuropathy of her legs, sounds awful.

Hey, what a scary dream you had there!  A perfect dream example of frustrations of feeling not being in control and feeling helpless.  Those kinds of dreams are the worst!  I'm so sorry.

Please hang in there.  I know you're feeling pretty low right now, and you have every right to feel that way.  But just remember, you can always rant away here, that's what we're here for.  Hope you are able to get some more sleep on your next try.

Linda

I feel for you with the muscle weakness. I have a friend who is dying of ALS. She had muscle weakness for many years and it was thought it was only bad carpal tunnel syndrome. She switched to a new doc that decided to throw the book at her in the way of tests and finally got the right diagnosis. She had enough time to get her affairs in order and has a support network set up for her until she passes away. The group calls her up on a daily basis and makes sure she has food delivered, transport to appointments, etc. She is using a speech machine to talk now since she can't use her vocal cords anymore, but can still type. They featured her on a local news program which highlighted the local organization that offers services to ALS patients in the area. Took me a long while to get used to the idea of her dying so soon (months away now), since I always kinda hoped she would recover with the right treatment. Sorry for kinda hijacking your rant to talk about her, but she was the first one I thought of as soon as I read about your muscle weakness, and I felt like I had to say something right away. I hope everything gets better for you soon.

John

I have a friend who also has neuropathy. He went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and after a full day of evaluation, they said it was a genetic defect that caused it and that he would not progress much more (no feeling in feet and going up the legs, slight loss of feeling in the hands).  Hopefully that is the case with you.

Have you tried a full face mask?  That may eliminate the nose problem.  Do you use humidity? Higher hunidity may help with the nose bleeds.

We are here for you when you want to rant so feel free.

Thanks one and all.

I have a humidifier and a "total face mask" has been ordered. I'm getting a private consult outside my HMO re: what bi-pap to use and where to get them.  I'm buying two - one as a backup.  I'm also going to dig up a private ENT.

Theuropathy is Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, http://www.charcot-marie-tooth.org/index.php. That's been fully worked up by neuro for decades, including a DNA test.  I've heard that my mother was taking prescription drugs for morning sickness when she was carrying me.  That sure would explain the depth and breadth of these problems.

Please accept my apologies for the expletive.  I noticed it had been censored by the admin.  I'm not complaining at all.  It wasn't as bad as those words we can't say on TV; I'll stop using it.
Thanks for the support,
Ephraim

Hiya Ephraim,

None of us moderators censored the language.  This forum software program has a built-in censoring thingamajig.  It does it automatically, scrambling the usual so-called bad words, which I think is all rather funny.  It only makes me wonder even harder what was really said!
 Wink

Don't take it personal, it's just this strange forum software program.   ....   No apologies are necessary, Ephraim.  Say whatever you like.   See how many get scrambled!    Rant the s#!@ out of this software!   Wink

Thanks for the information.  And I hope the machine and new mask work better for you.  I have a bipap and I like it.  My mask, however, .... well, I've cursed at that thing quite a number of times!  Thankfully I finally found one that works so much better for me.

I can attest to the program changing words.  I had tried to write something using a word that contained part of a word that could be considered a swear word.  Even though the word as a whole was not a swear word, it still took out what it thought was offending.  I just rewrote using an explanation of the word instead of the actual word.

The link was interesting on the specific neuropathy that you have.  I did have to use the main address to get to an explanation as I could not get anything on the link that you gave.  I just deleted everyhting after the slant line ( / ).  It sounds like more of an inherited genetic defect than something from medication.  My friend has to take medication for the pain he gets, and avoid steps.  Otherwise, he seems to live a fairly normal life.

I'm not upset at all about the software's censoring algorythm C - R - A - P was the word.

I'm exhausted and almost shaking.  Going to bed now.  It's the residue from the December fall I had that is sending me to bed so early now.

I'll be OK.  Thanks for your support.
Ephraim
