Post Hi New Here. Question about sleep study
Hello
I am new here.  I searched for a place to ask this question.

My son had his sleep apnea test done a few days ago.  Would anyone know how truly accurate it would be if the tech had to come in numerous times during the night to adjust this or that.  Or change a line.  Or a battery because he just couldn't keep a good connection?

When I say numerous I mean for instance my son went to bed at 10 at 11 until 2:30 the tech came in 6 times to adjust something.   After that he came in 3 more times to change out the nose piece.  Then he also came on over the speaker asking me to put one side back in his nose.  Then he came in at 5:45 am to send us home.

I just don't see how that can be accurate when the light was turned on and he was woke up most of those times by someone.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Well, the Medicare criteria is 2 hours sleep out of 6 hours bedtime. Granted, and I'm sure an honest sleep doctor would agree, the more sleep we are able to get in that 6-8 hours the better the odds of getting an accurate evaluation and/or titration.

This also happened with us and the sleep study still showed she has SA so I'm sure it will all go fine. When you get the results of the test let us all know what it shows. Good Luck to you my friend and we are all thinking of you!!!
