Confused Sorry guys - I forgot to ask a question in my last post.  Can I buy a mask from one of the places online without a doctor's prescription?  Also - are there good sites and some I should steer clear of??  Thanks in advance for your help! Very Happy

Hi Momma22,

You don't need a doctor's prescription for a mask.  The masks can be gotten easily.
As for online stores, there are many.  This site does not recommend specific online stores nor give any assessment of how good or bad they are.  This site is run by a nonprofit organization (the American Sleep Apnea Association) and so we can't do that.
But there is a way to search for online products using Froogle, which is a special search engine run by Google.  If you search for www.froogle.com and search for cpap masks, many come up with information about the masks and about the participating online providers.  You might also call local medical equipment providers for their costs and availability of what you want.  As with any shopping, be sure to ask plenty of questions and to be comfortable with where you purchase.  Good luck.

I'm not sure that posting about where one bought their mask is really trying to promote that manufacturer -- I know I have done it about other things on other forums and it certainly wasn't my intent to help any particular e-store.  I think it depends on how it is done.

However, it seems that one could easily pm someone about where to get it and everything would be hunky dory, so the information can be transmitted if one wants to and the restriction is not that big a deal.

You are right Judy. It is easy to PM someone with your experience with a particular vendor.  And you are also right about the way you do it.  We don't want people linking directly to a store, as it gives the appearance of the ASAA supporting that particular site.  Instead of turning off all linking, we just ask that folks don't post links directly to stores.   Unfortunately some folks insist on promoting a particular store despite our policy.
