Post comfortable mask- no leaks
Is there such a thing?? So far I haven't found it.  I thanks the folks who have written to let me know what works for them.  I've got several I'm considering and am wondering if I could get some more opinions----has anyone tried the Respironics Comfort Lite with the Simple Cushion; the Respironics Comfort Classic Nasal Mask;  Nasal Aire II?  I know Mike likes the Resmed Ultra Mirage and Mitch recommends the ResMed Mirage Activa.  I have kind of a small, narrow face and Mitch mentioned that he thought the mask was somewhat large.  I tried the Swift nasal pillows a few nights ago - woke up in 2 hours with air blowing everywhere (I've tried both sizes); last night I fiddled with the Breeze for 1/2 hour, took it off and called it a night.  I'm about at the point of not doing this.  I'm going to get another mask, even if it has to be out of my own pocket ---so that's why I'm asking for your opinions.  Thanks everyone!!

Post No leaks??????????????
Hi Momma 22,

I so know how you feeling.  Trying to find a mask that will fit and not have horrid leaks is getting to me too.  I would also love to hear everyones opinion on masks that have little or no leaks.  I've tried the ResMd Ultra Mirage.  It was so comfortable, but very leaky.  The flexifit was great with no leaks, but the mask was too big and the air intake didn't seemed positioned well so I immediately began to feel more and more tired again.  I have been trying the Swift nasal pillows for 5 days now and last night I was so tempted to throw the darn thing across the room Mad   When I sleep on my side I get a seal, however, if I move my head just a millimeter I get a leak.  It seemed like I was awake more than asleep last night Crying or Very sad   Anyway, I did find if I sleep on my back and DON'T MOVE then it's fine.  That so isn't going to work for me so I also need help with this one.  Now I've heard good things about the Breeze nasal pillows and RedMd Vista.  What are everyone else's thoughts? Also, it may help to know my pressure is at 14. I've been very lucky so far in that my DME lets me take the mask home to try.  She says after two weeks she can't take them back.  Last time though she got a tad cranky and said we needed to figure this out for billing purposes!!!!  Boy was I so not thrilled with that remark.  Anyway, hoping someone can give me a good rundown on these two masks.  I'm hoping fourth time is the charm Rolling Eyes

Hi Momma22...I use the Activa and had good luck with it. I also have a small face, and other masks I have tried did leak quite bad but the Activa works pretty good...not perfect, but I don't think any mask is perfect. I can even sleep on my stomach with it and not get any leaks. There are three different sizes. I use the standard size....the shallow size is smaller but wider...too wide for my face.  Anyway, good luck finding the right mask for you...

Post masks???
HI all:
I have a Breeze nasal pillow with the Blue nasal pillows.  My nose and face are pretty small. I have tried 2 different masks thinking I would like to switch.  No go...  I have headaches from the masks pressing on my sinus's and forehead.  I went back to my Breeze.  It did take getting used to.  It took about a week to figure out where I needed what, but after that I can adjust it with no problem go to sleep and most nights sleep.  The thing that has helped me most was the ramp feature on the machine.  When I go to put it on it makes a difference to get a seal without all the pressure.  I also use AYR nasal gel that also helps to get a seal.  The adjustment that is really important for me is the back of my head.  It has to be at the back of my head ABOVE the base of my skull otherwise it moves to much.  I also keep the nasal pillow part fairly tight into my nose.  It doesn't bother me at all to have the pillows a little "squished"  and it works.  Hope this might help.

I gave up with the masks. It just isn't worth me getting that upset and frustrated.  I was trying the masks because the hard part at the back is causing my head to be tender where it rests if I sleep on my back.  But I'll put up with that.  Compared with trying to get that soft velcro headgear on and not getting a good fit, forget it!!!

Hop this might help,
Ruth
