Post Sleeping bad on cpap, felt awesome after study though...
I've been on my cpap for about a week to week & 1/2 now.  When I wake up I'm constantly tired and have slept worse on it then I did without.  I've been in touch with the people that brought out the machine and I keep hearing the wait longer story.  This seems odd to me though because the morning after the sleep study I felt like a completly new man and could of ran a marathon.

Last night I tried something new with my chin strap to make it more comfortable and that seemed to help as I'm not as tired now.  Anybody have any suggestions?  I have a swift mask and cpap with humidifier.

Thanks!

schill32, it may very well be that you're opening your mouth during the night which will totally negate the effectiveness of the CPAP.  During my sleep study titration with nasal pillows, the technician came in during the night and put a chin strap on me because my mouth kept falling open.  I, too, felt great the next morning.

I have used the chin strap faithfully since then, and after almost two years of CPAP use, I continue to get a great night's sleep, and am full of energy during the day.

If the strap you have doesn't seem to be working, try a Google search on "chin straps."  There are dozens of them out there with different configurations.

On the other hand, I'm not familiar with the "swift mask," but I'm assuming it's nasal only rather than a full-face mask for which you shouldn't need a chin strap.
