Post What could have changed?
I was recently diagnosed with very severe OSA, and I got my CPAP machine last Tuesday. My pressure is 18 and I have a FF mask. Last night, something changed about the airflow! Before, when the airflow started, I could feel the mask kind of "fill up" with air, and my cheeks would puff out. I even heard a "whoosh" sound. It was almost like it was making it's own little atmosphere inside the mask, and I could feel that the airpressure was higher. Last night, it just felt like wind blowing in my face, without the whoosh or the puffing or anything. I checked all over for leaks, but there weren't any, even around my mask. I'm so new to this, I'm not sure what to think. Any suggestions on what could have changed? I think I still slept okay, but at this stage it's hard to tell because I'm still pretty tired all the time. Thanks!

perhaps you used the ramp which starts with a lower air pressure
make sure the air intake of the machine isnt covered by a cloth, piece of plastic, etc

I recently went through something similar.  I started with the Comfort Gel mask, then to the Swift nasal pillows, and now the Breeze mask.  I was concerned because when wearing the Comfort Gel and the nasal pillows, when I would hold my breath (just to see that I had a good airflow), I felt tons of air blowing around.  With the Swift, I feel very little.  So I took it to my respiratory therapist/medical equipment supplier last week.  She put it on a machine and tinkered with it awhile and said the numbers were just perfect.  So I have to take her word for it that it's working properly.  If you're concerned, maybe you could have it checked out.  Good luck!!

Hi RocsFan!

I concur that it might be comforting to have the mask and your CPAP checked out to make sure it is behaving properly.  You might of hit the ramp button on or off.  Probably nothing to worry about.  Glad your FF mask is not leaking.  Which one are you using?
