Hi Susanf,

If possible a Sleep Specialist. If you are in the US, I believe a Board Certified one is the best.
Sleep Specialists are normally respiratory/pulmonary specialists with an additional qualification in sleep or respiratory sleep medicine. In some cases they are neurologists or ENTs.

You should have a referral from your primary care physician.

sadly many docs know almost nothing about sleep apnea, it helps to take along tape recordings of you asleep, snoring, etc

Hi Susanf,

You doctor should be a diplomate of the ABSM.  To find one, see my doctor and sleep lab certification links under the "Interesting Links" forum.
