Post kicking and thrashing
I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea for about six months, but know I have had this much problem longer than six months.  My husband is telling me that lately I have been kicking my legs, flailing my arms and this happens about every 20 seconds for hours on end.   I stop doing this, and then start up again after about one minute. I also get up and leave the bed multiple times without remembering getting up.  Has anyone experienced this type of behavior, and if so, do you know if these are problems from the apnea or something unrelated?  Please help. Thanks

I would urge you to talk to your doctor about this.  Before I started CPAP therapy, my arms & legs would thrash around all night long.  I have not done this at all since I started CPAP.  Perhaps your CPAP setting is not correct for you and it needs to be changed.  I have read in other posts, that you should have re-titration (another sleep study with a CPAP to determine which setting is proper for you)  after the first 6 months of use and every year after that as well as after you have lost or gained 20 pounds.  Also - you should have your CPAP checked.  It is possible that the machine is not putting out the pressure that it says it is.  Your DME should have a manometer (sp?) to check the output.

Good luck!
