Hi Natesmom and Doublethefun!

This explains the test your doctor was talking about to measure CO2 levels:

CO2 explained at www.labtestsonline.org

We are trying to locate pediatric sleep centers and if you don't hear back in a day or two, PM me.  We moderators are bad at overlooking this forum.

I had my T&A out when I was 6 yo.  I remember it hurt a lot, but what I remember most is getting to eat all the ice cream I wanted.   The ice cream helps with the pain.  I had forgotten this, and thankfully things have changed, but they put me to sleep with some awful gas that was supposed to be orange flavored.  I think the only reason I just remembered that is that I'm typing about it and eating an orange.  After surgery my parents gave me a little transitor radio as a present (oh oh dating myself) and I will always remember laying in the dark, listening to the Beatles "Michele".

I don't know anything about increased daytime CO2 levels and behavior.  Have you Goggled it?

Remember, lots of ice cream!

Vicki

Post PLM
Thanks for your reply Vicki.  I have tried googleing with no sucess.  That is why I am concerned as to why they would want a test if there is nothing to substantiate (sp) it.  I have been in touch with a "clinical specialist with Nationwide Respiratory" who said he was concerned with Alex's  PMLS.  Here are those stats:

Total Limb Movement:    105
LM index:                       13.0
PLM Sequences              2

What would the concern be regarding these numbers?

Thanks for any input!

Post Surgery
Well, the surgery is done.  Nate's tonsils and adenoids were removed last Thursday.  The entire procedure took approx. 25 minutes.  Happened so quickly that I got scared to death when the nurse said the doctor was coming out to talk to us only 25 minutes after we left him.  I though something had gone wrong.
According to his ENT, all went great!  Said he had very large tonsils and HUGE adenoids.  Said we will probably see a difference in him (not sure what exactly we'll see)
Nate came thru it like a little pro, bless his heart.  In fact, by the end of the afternoon, you'd have never even guessed he'd had surgery that morning.  Other than eating nothing but popsicles and Icee's he appeared to be the same as always.  In fact, we all but had to tie him to the couch to get him to stay calm and rest.
Day 2 was probably the worst day so far, and even that wasn't really too bad, his throat just seemed more sore that day than any other.
We'll see how the next few days go.  He returned to school today with phys ed restrictions but that was it.
