Post Harley on PBS Second Opinion: Take Charge of Your Healthcare
Hello Folks!

The PBS network is showing a TV program called "Second Opinion: Take Charge of Your Healthcare. Episode #305 is about Sleep Disorders. Yes, I am on that program. It begins to air in many places today, but people need to check their local listings for the time and date of the program.

Here are some of the links to the program:

Thank you, Harley. I read the transcript, preferring that to video or TV. It was especially interesting to read Gretchen's experience w/insomnia alongside yours w/OSA. I'd never heard of a sleep psychologist, only sleep neurologists and sleep pulmonologists. It was interesting that Gretchen was first referred for CBT rather than a sleep study. It really wasn't clear why that choice was made, what clued them in that hers might be insomnia rather than OSA. Another interesting tidbit presented was that magnesium deficiency was widespread and that they referred to it as the relaxation mineral and can be powerful at night. I remember all the hype several years ago now about melatonin for sleep which this panel was not particularly in favor of.

The Key Points linked from the top left of the transcript page were very informative as well.
