Mask Causing Numbness?

Post Mask Causing Numbness?
A couple of weeks ago, I experienced numbness on my right bottom lip & gum; it was as if I had a shot of novacaine. I generally was brought on when I ate a meal and went away after about 20 minutes.  This lasted for about a week.  An MRA showed nothing the dr felt would cause it.  The dentist ruled out anything dental.  My dr said it was probably the face mask (I wear a full face mask).  Has anyone else experienced this?  I am a recently diagnosed OSA patient.

I also use a FF mask, but I haven't experienced numbness.  I would guess however that your mask may be too tight down there.  Another option is the mask I use which is a Flexifit 431.  Several of us on this forum use it.  It is very comfortable, seals well, and the part that would be great for you, is that it goes slightly under your chin rather than your lower lip.

Vicki nailed it regarding extension of the mask ridging the chin.  Note the curve at the bottom under the re-breather valve.  I found this mask as comfortable as its reputation and very easy to adjust while in use.
