Hi, I have been on cpap for about 7+ weeks.  The last few weeks i have noticed that i have some acne where my mask headgear rests on my upper cheekbone.  Any suggestions?  I have put some aloe vera gel on it, i think it may help a tad, but need suggestions.

I have been on CPAP for a little over a week and at the outset I did develope some acne on the bridge of my nose.  I started using an acne cleansing pad on the affected area before putting on my mask and it seems to be working.  Perhaps this will work for you as well.  Good luck!!

If you find that this is continuing, you might consider trying a nasal pillow mask or the like.  I had similar problems with the seal causing irritation, but that was eliminated when I switched to a different style of mask.

sometimes rubbing skinlotion i n  first helps, but some have allergy type reactions to the silicone rubber used in masks
if the nask is moving on the face the straps may need tightening, the final adjustment is best done when lying in bed

I agree, Mike.  My nasal pillow headgear is of the very "old fashioned" kind...all soft cloth with no metal, plastic or silicone touching my skin.  The only downside is that it needs fairly frequent replacement (about every six months) as it doesn't stand up well to frequent washing.  On the plus side, however, they are very inexpensive to replace.
