Post What does AHI per hour mean?
I just received a hard copy of my Sleep study.
Sleep Efficiency = 73 percent
19 central apneas
2 obstructive apneas with maximum duration of 24 seconds
6 obstructive hypopneas
apnea/hypopneas index of 12.3 per hour
AHI of 24 per hour
snoring 9 on a 10 scale    (my poor wife)
oxygen level dropped to 87 percent

These results don't seem to be very bad to me after reading some of the posts on this site.
What does AHI stand for?
Thank you for your reply's, David

AHI stands for Apnea-Hypopnea Index. On my study it's an average of how many times per hour I stopped breathing. I believe that in general anything over 10 indicates sleep apnea, but it's classified as moderate or something. Severe starts at around 40 or 50 an hour. But that doesn't mean it isn't a problem for you!!
