Post Maintenance
I've read all the threads regarding the "life expectancy" of CPAP devices with great interest, and am surprised to learn that 5 - 7 years is about the norm.  Mine will be two years old this October.

I have a Respironics Remstar Pro with C-Flex and am very pleased with it.  My setting is 14, and I use nasal pillows with a chin strap.

My question is whether these devices need any type of maintenance, and at what interval, by either the manufacturer or DME to assure that they are working properly and delivering air at the proper pressure?

Thanks,
Amigo

I'm sure you can find a DME that will 'maintain' it for you for a fee .  I'd just take my chances and treat it like any other precision instrument . Keep it in a clean environment , treat it gently. Change filters regularly.  Something new will come along and you will upgrade .  Why not try the auto units .  Unless your a leaf blower kind of guy .  Laughing

Thanks, chumley, although I'm not sure I understand your reference to "auto units."

It appears from the lack of response to my question that the folks here have no information regarding maintenance to assure that the device is continuing to provide the correct pressure, etc.  I guess I'll let my sleep patterns be my guide, and if I find that I'm getting tired during the day again, I'll discuss with my pulmonary specialist and take it from there.

Thanks, Linda.  I'll be interested to hear what is checked, by whom and how.

Keep us posted, please.
