Post hard to exhale
Hi - my 11yo daughter just started on a vpap so that the doc can see what air pressure she needs.  When I tried it on to practice with it before fitting her with it I thought that it was hard to exhale.  I thought that it was hard with her cpap also, but this is worse.  My husband tried it on tonight and mentioned how hard it was to exhale.  The pressure was only on 5 during these times.
Any comments?

Has your daughter been using cpap for a while, and they are just checking to see if she needs a pressure adjustment?  Or is she New to it all?  I couldn't help wondering why you were "fittingher with it" instead of the DME company.
I guess the important thing about exhalation, isn't whether you and your husband find it difficult, but if she does.  Has she commented on her feeling with it?  If she is having difficulty, I would contact the equipment supplier, and ask that an RT help her with it.

Post c-pap and exhale
Hi Snakegirl, not sure it you got an answer to your question yet.  My son was on c-pap but they switched him to c-flex because it makes it easier for the kids to exhale (less pressure).  Might want to inquire about this if it is still an issue.
