Hi - my 11 yo daughter was diagnosised with sleep apnea last fall. She has had 3 sleep studies, her t &a taken care of, started CPAP a couple of months ago and is currently undergoing a 30 day sleep study with VPAP at home. With the CPAP she barely makes it past 4 hours of sleep before taking it off. The CPAP seems to make sleep even more difficult and it freaks me out because it seems like she has more sleep episodes with the CPAP. They saw that during her last study hence the VPAP. After the last study with CPAP the doc saw some issues with her heart that he wants checked out. The neuropsychologist wants her to have a 24 hour EEG to rule out possible seizure disorder. The doctor, neuropsychologist, technicians, medical supply company, it hasn't been that long, but I'm overwhelmed at the amount of information. I've checked out her doc and he is a certified sleep doc, but I want better answers, better results, it seems that they are all groping around in the dark. Is this normal?
Where/who is the sleep apnea meca?
Who has worked the most with kids?
Wanting to know that we are not alone and are we on the right track.
Thank you for all responses.
