How long?

Post How long?
How long did it take to get your mask adjusted right? I got mine yesterday and had it fitted. Sure enough whe I laid down it leaked. I feel like it is way to tight once it seals and I'm laying down. When I woke up this morning I felt great except for some cheek/ cheek bone pain from the mask. It is a full face Respironics.

Thanks in advance,
Eric

the elastic tends to stretch a bit later, the final adjustment should be made when lying down
sometimes the silicone rubber softens a bit when warmed by the heat of your face, giving a better fit
you need to be patient and positive with all masks

Eric, I used the FF mask you have (Respironics Comfort Full) for months.  It was very uncomfortable on me - caused the same cheek/cheekbone pain you mentioned.  I think it's because the Respironics cushion is not all that great.  The plastic outer frame can be felt pressing against the cushion when you lie on just about any part of the mask.   The Comfort Full was also very prone to spring leaks.

I switched later to a ResMed Ultra Mirage FF. A much better full face mask -- for me, anyway.  Everyone's "mask mileage" varies.  A mask that suits one person's face and sleeping style might not another.   ResMed designs much better cushions in both their full face and traditional nasal masks than Respironics does, imho.  I've tried quite a few from both those manufacturers and have consistently found the ResMed masks more comfortable and less prone to leak -- on me.  Might not be the same experience for others.

After battling my mask I made an appoint. with the doctor. I walked in with the mask; he took one look at it and knew what was wrong. He prescribed a Resmed and they gave me a Respironics. Luckily there was a rep from the supply company in the office talking about their wonderful customer support. After being told last week it would cost me $400 for a new mask, it is now being taken care of. I hope this helps somebody in the future.

Eric
