Well, it's been 2 months and I'm finally sleeping through the night. I fall asleep no problem and stay asleep all night long. I guess the next goal is feeling better. I still wake up in the morning feeling like I always have.  Rolling Eyes

Hey MisterGreen, thanks for giving me hope , as I have been going exactly what you have been going trough; I do have a hard time going to sleep and do sleep but wake up at least once or twice in the night; from the posts here I've learned that it takes months to recover from the fatigue accumulated trough the years. I think getting used to the mask is a matter of breaking an old habit and starting  a new one. but the fatigue will take longer to heal from. Let's keep up the great work!

Good to hear, Ranita! I'm going on 4 months now. Still able to fall asleep and stay asleep through the night. Still not feeling any better, though. My sleep debt must be enormous.  Wink

I am a c-pap user and just finished readiation treatments for breast cancer.  I am still trying to figure out if the fatigue is from sleep apnea for treatments.  I guess it really doesn't matter as long as I can usually get a full night's sleep !

I know without c-pap it would be a lot worse.

It's been good for me to read some of these posts. I just got my CPAP last Friday and had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I had the mask with the nostril pads and it was uncomfortable. Yesterday, I got a mask with the gel insert that goes over my nose. I find it easier to breathe in and out. I also bought a pillow they sell to help sleep on your back and side with the mask. My problem is similar, though. I have a hard time falling asleep then only sleep for about three hours. I wake up and seem to have a hard time falling back to sleep again. I used to wake up a couple times at night but would fall right back to sleep. Now, it seems like forever before I fall back to sleep if at all and it takes much longer to go to sleep. I never felt terrible during the day or when waking up, so I am not sure I notice any difference. I like to think I am thinking more clearly! My doctor and the CPAP therapist told me I have narrow / small nostrils. When I did the sleep study, I was told I had an average 32 AHI. My pressure is set at 7 on a ResMed 8 machine. Not sure I have all the lingo down. But I have found from reading this forum that I should be patient and it's not uncommon to have some issues with falling asleep and staying asleep at first like this.
