I recently started using my TAP III in combination with my Respironics nasal mask. It solved mask leakage, but now I have a different problem...dry mouth! It is so irritating that it interferes with my sleep. I'm guessing that the TAP holds my mouth open more, causing my tongue, cheeks, throat and gums to dry out terribly. I even have a heated humidifier (ResMed Sullivan HumidAire) that doesn't seem to produce any effect whatsoever other than causing rain-out on occasion. It certainly doesn't help with the dried out mouth and throat.
What I've tried so far: Someone recommended a product that supposedly helps keep your mouth and throat moist (mainly for folks on chemo I think). It dodn't work at all.
Has anyone else dealt successfully with this?
I have another appointment this week with the Sleep Clinic. Maybe there's an answer out there!
Thanks!
Ryan
