I started using an OA called the SUAD device about 3 months ago. This device allows one to titrate the amount that the lower jaw is held forward using small 1/2 and 1 millimeter spacers. Initially it worked very well for about a week. The I would wake up occasionally and feel like it hadn't worked at all. So I gradually increased the spacers to about 3 mm beyond what the dentist's initial setting for me was. But now it doesn't seem to be working. My spouse says that I no longer snore, but I still wake up feeling like I experienced apnea.
Today I obtained more spacers from my dentist and I'm just wondering if by increasing the amount my lower jaw is forward more and more will make the apnea stop again.......or will my jaw just get used to this increase and I will start to have apnea again.
Anybody have any input on this?
