Post Question on air pressure level at night
Me again with another question...this time a technical one. I did look to see if it had already been asked but no luck. Plus I wasn't sure where to post this so since I'm a spouse I came here to ask.

Hubby complained about an event last night that was disconcerting to him. He woke up during the night and the pressure level on his machine was apparently very high...blowing like crazy!  For a second or two he felt this blowing in his nose and felt like someone had shoved an air hose in his head. Obviously it quit right away but that sensation blasted him awake and off came the mask for the rest of the night.  He's having problems going longer than 3 hours or so and is not happy with the ordeal but he is trying...because of me, I believe.

The machine he has is a Respironics REMstar Auto M series.  My guess is that it takes a second or two for it to kick down when he wakes up. Is there something we or the provider can do to prevent this from happening? Maybe change a setting?

Thanks for taking time to read this!

Butterflies he is not the first one to complain of that happening, I have seen other similar post about the same thing, when I was on BiPAP my Respironic REMstar  series M did the same thing several times, I took it back to my DME, they said they turned it in for repairs and they gave me another machine. So you might want to talk to your DME about it. When it happened to me it was like it was stuck  on high and I had to turn the machine off to get it to reset. I don't know of any way to prevent it other than maybe getting a different machine. Personally I am sold on ResMed! Good Luck to You
